Plate: Recipe Keeper is live on the App Store

Plate is out. As of today, Plate: Recipe Keeper is on the App Store for iPhone — free to download, available in twenty languages, and ready for whatever you cooked last night.

We have been quiet for a while, building the thing. Here is what shipped, what it costs, and what it deliberately does not do.

Plate turns a photo, a link, or a hand-typed note into a structured recipe with ingredients, quantities, steps, and timing. Point your camera at dinner and a recipe comes back in seconds. Paste a link from a video app and it lands in exactly the same clean format.

Every saved recipe gets two things a notes app cannot give you. Each ingredient carries its own nutrition estimate, and the dish gets a cinematic teardown cover: the finished plate with its components suspended above it, lit like a product shoot.

Because keeping is the hard part. Most of us already have the recipes — a screenshot, a link buried in a chat, a photo of a page from someone else's cookbook, three tabs that will never be reopened. They are simply nowhere useful. Plate collects all of it in one place and makes it cookable.

That framing is also why Plate is not a tracker. There are no daily budgets, no streaks to protect, no red numbers after a good dinner. Nutrition exists so you understand what you are cooking, and it stops there.

Plate is free to download, and the free tier is a real one: save a limited set of recipes, try AI recipe creation, see core nutrition. Plate Pro unlocks unlimited AI recipes from photos, links, and text, every visual style, the full ingredient-level breakdown, watermark-free hi-res and PDF export, and private cloud sync.

Pro is a subscription — weekly, monthly, or yearly — with no credit packs and nothing hidden behind a second purchase. Start free, decide later, and manage or cancel the plan in Settings whenever you want.

Plate ships fully localized in twenty languages: English, Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese. The app is translated, and so is the writing inside your recipes.

That matters more than it sounds. A recipe you cannot read is a recipe you will not cook, and cooking vocabulary — simmer, fold, rest, reduce — is exactly where generic translation tends to fall apart.
